Performance Indicators (includes performance of below tasks) |

Import Documentation Handling |
Prepare, verify and maintain complete import shipment documents including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, Certificate of Origin, Form-E and other regulatory documents. |
Documents prepared and submitted without errors |

Customs Clearance Coordination |
• Coordinate with clearing agents for filing Goods Declaration (GD) and ensure compliance with customs regulations, HS Code classification and duty/tax calculation. |
• Shipments cleared within standard clearance time |
|
Shipment Tracking & Follow-ups |
•Monitor shipment movement from supplier to port and port to warehouse. Follow up with shipping lines, freight forwarders and transporter |
• Accurate ETA updates to stakeholders |
|
Port & Delivery Management |
Arrange Delivery Orders, gate passes, transportation and coordinate unloading with warehouse team |
Timely delivery order • Smooth gate-out from port • No container storage delays |
|
Demurrage & Detention Control |
Monitor container free days and ensure timely clearance and return of containers to avoid penalties. |
• Zero or minimal demurrage/detention charges |
|
Banking & Trade Operations (LC/CAD/TT) |
Coordinate with bank regarding LC documents, discrepancies, document retirement and payments to suppliers |
• Documents submitted to bank within LC timeline |
|
Regulatory Compliance |
• Liaise with customs authorities, port authorities and other regulatory bodies for approvals, permits and NOCs where required. |
• Compliance with import policy and customs laws |
Requirements:
|
Professional Experience 4 years of experience in customs clearance, logistics, or trade operations Experience handling LC documentation and import shipments preferred Familiarity with port operations and clearing procedures
Hands-on experience with SAP, Custom House and clearing documents, PSW, and bank LC documentation. |
Education & Technical Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field Certification in Import-Export / Logistics (preferred)
