Deputy Manager - HSE

Location: Thar

Education: 

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Professional HSE/Safety certifications will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in mining, construction, utilities, heavy industry, or large-scale industrial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the effective implementation of the Safety Management System across site operations.
• Identify, assess, and develop controls to eliminate or minimize occupational health and safety hazards.
• Monitor HSE KPIs, leading indicators, and targets, and support sites in achieving safety objectives.
• Develop and implement QHSE management systems, processes, and procedures in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable Queensland/industry standards and regulations.
• Advise management on HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations.
• Conduct site visits, safety audits, and inspections to identify gaps and drive timely corrective actions.
• Participate in incident and accident investigations, ensuring effective root-cause analysis and closure of corrective actions.
• Analyze incident trends and recommend preventive and improvement measures.
• Develop, review, and maintain Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and coordinate emergency response drills and training.
• Support the development and implementation of site-specific safety inductions and orientation programs.
• Coordinate with project teams on HSE requirements for project scopes, tenders, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with critical risk management systems including PTW, MOC, PSSR, and risk assessments.
• Participate in HSE forums and provide management with insights on HSE performance and improvement areas.
• Maintain HSE records, compliance documentation, and periodic HSE performance reports.
• Support departmental budgeting, expense monitoring, and annual HSE budget planning.
