Job Title: PVC DCS Operator (Panel Operator)

Job Purpose:

Responsible for safe and efficient operation of PVC DCS to achieve safety, environment, OH&IH Production, quality and cost objectives of Engro Polymer and Chemicals Ltd. 

Overall Responsibilities:

• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of DCS of assigned Area to achieve Safety, Environment, OHIH, Production, Quality and Cost objectives of Engro Polymer and Chemicals Ltd.
• Responsible for smooth DCS operation keeping in focus the design limits of the equipment and operation parameters.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance of the operating guidelines and standing orders.
• Responsible for informing his Shift Incharge for any deviation or routine / non-routine operational changes.
• Responsible to suggest changes to Shift Incharge regarding the improvement in plant efficiency and safety of plant.
• Responsible for carrying out the plant normal activities diligently and writing Shift Log Book & properly performing shift handing over / taking over activities by effective communication about safety, usual / unusual operation, defective plant condition & prevailing plant condition.
• Checks instruments & controls, logs parameters of post
• Fills all required log sheets, checklists and laboratory results.
• Monitors and helps SIC in controlling product quality.
• Monitors trends to pick-up and highlight problems applying proactive approach.
• Ensures compliance of the safety system and procedure at the post, including work permits procedure, control of change, safety critical system, operating procedures and manuals.
• Responsible for maintaining DCS log sheets & log book as per normal procedure and consult the Shift Incharge for any unsafe condition and practice.
• Responsible for safe and effective handling of plant emergencies.
• Provides guidance to field engineers and assists the SIC in appropriate decision-making during emergencies.
• Participates in department training activities as per training plans.
• Responsible for the Housekeeping and upkeep of CCR.
• Responsible for supervising & implementing grade change activities in his area as per plan.
• Responsible for compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14000 standards and PSM procedures.
• Responsible for safe and effective handling of plant emergencies in compliance with the role statement during Level-1 or Level-2 emergencies.
• Performs field jobs during turnarounds as & when required.
• Performs duties safely & smoothly to protect his fellow workers.
• Adheres to rules & regulations as stipulated in Company policy.
• Be prepared to work for long hours and promptly respond to call outs to achieve & implement Department objectives.
• Carry out all work related to the job description and any other work assigned by Shift Incharge on need basis.

  Experience requirements:

  DAE/B.Tech Chemical/FSc/Graduate with 10+ Years of relevant experience in Operation/ Production section of Petrochemical or fertilizer plant.
