  1. Job Purpose              

 

Machinery Supervisor is responsible to Lead & carry out machinery maintenance jobs safely, ensuring quality of work and within specified budget. He also contributes in improving service factor of plant and reducing down times by ensuring reliability of the machines at the plant.

Machinery Supervisor – is also responsible for safe and reliable operation of all machinery facilities and equipment at site as per assigned area/unit. His role covers execution of preventive and predictive maintenance plans, job planning and execution, timely incident reporting and submission of detail investigation reports, ensuring minimum downtime on plant equipment’s, planning for shutdown and forecasting annual budgets. He works in coordination with the UMs / SH / SICs to ensure smooth functioning of the manufacturing site and to achieve corporate as well as departmental objectives.

 

Other Responsibilities are;

 

•To keep track of inspection and safety recommendations and their in-time closure.

•Track of Equipment Health and work continuously on MTBF improvement

•To keep track of Rotary equipment health at site

•Inspection of area related Warehouse stock items on arrival

•Read previous day Operations log books and check any abnormality notified in it.

•Read and signing off machinery log book.

•To Discuss and assign the jobs to machinery technician based on preventive plan / condition monitoring / actual plant condition.

•To supervise machinery jobs in field and make machinery maintenance reports.

•Update the previous day machinery maintenance history on their respective files.

•To check maintenance related management safety audit point and rectify them.

•Develop MIV, MRW, PR, SR and job orders as per requirement.

•Implement preventive maintenance program

•To be ready for Callout on immediate basis

Performance Indicators

Compliance to Corporate Safety Targets

 

  • Ensures compliance of PSRM/PSM.
  • Develop and implement PSRM objectives for Machinery section.
  • Ensures compliance to leading indicator score and target >80% score for Maintenance manager KPI.
  • 100% Compliance of B-level and D-level meeting.
  • Ensures prompt (7 working days) and correct safety incident investigation & high-quality root cause analysis. Also nominated as part of team investigation reports. Ensure compliance of recommendations and follow up with other departments / sections.
  • Ensure Safety Critical system PM are conducted as per schedule and waiver system followed for any incompliance.
  • Responsible to attain 100% compliance to NEQS in his own capacity.
  • Facilitates internal and external audits for PSRM, ISO-14000 etc and work on the recommendation pertaining to his own area.
  • Development, review, approval, and updates of maintenance procedures (JSA, JMS, Temp. Repair, etc.)

Compliance to Shutdown plans and timelines

  • Plans effectively for turnaround activities with respect to time, manning and budgeting.
  • Safe execution of shutdown jobs
  • Support to Planning Dept. in s/down Job Planning & preparation of job packages.

 

Provide support Operations Department in reliable and sustained day to day plant operations by providing the required maintenance services/timely execution of PM plans

  • SAP Utilization after its implementation
  • Timely resolution of unplanned/ unforeseen maintenance problems
  • Responsible for reliable plant operation and development of reliability enhancement program for machinery equipment and facilities at site.
  • Ensures timely execution of all PM activities and quality of work with no reworks at site.

Spares identification & ordering

 

 

  • Identification of spares
  • Get stock cards prepared.
  • Coordinate with W/H and purchasing for timely ordering and delivery of items required.

 

Preparation and stewardship of fixed cost budget and investment plan related to stationary equipment.

 

 

  • Prepares Yearly Expense budget for the Machinery section.
  • Monthly and Quarterly stewardship of budget
  • Puts control on activities to remain under budget and initiates necessary approvals for must do unbudgeted items during the year.

Training & Development

 

 

  • Conduct Training as per Training Plans
  • Ensure compliance to Training Plans

Business Ethics

 

 

  • 100% Compliance to UCG meetings
  • Resolution of issues highlighted in UCGs

PADP of subordinates

 

 

  • Timely completion of appraisals of subordinates
  • Provide feedback to employees on their performance

 

Experience requirements:

​​​​​​DAE or B-Tech in Mechanical, with 12+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemicals, or fertilizer plant
