Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to manage appropriate financial risk mitigation through comprehensive insurance coverages for all identifiable business assets including business continuity coverage as well as management of insurance operations to ensure timely renewals and payments, facilitate claims processing and stakeholders management.

Description

Performance Indicators

  1. Manage insurance operational functions
  • Monitor insurance policies to ensure timely renewals / covers
  • Facilitate in claims processing and stakeholder management for employee claims
  • Monitor and review policy wise reconciliation to ensure timely updation / removal of new/disposed assets
  • Ensure timely payment of premium and recording of insurance entries in SAP

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators 2/4

  1. Manage appropriate risk coverages from insurance perspective and ensure comprehensiveness of policy/coverage w.r.t asset risks whilst managing insurance costs
  • Complete list of insurance policies group wide
  • For new coverages / policy renewals, engage with insurance company/broker / end-user to ensure comprehensive of coverage w.r.t insured risks
  • Comparative quotes / thorough insurance market survey to ensure cost competitiveness at the time of policy renewal
  1. Monitor claims control list and ensure timely recovery on claims
  • Completeness and accuracy of claims control list
  • Minimize claim settlement time by effective stakeholder management – insurance company and insured
  • For Company level claims, dashboard reporting to Business Finance on overdue claims including support on Board packages

  1. Relationship building with Insurance companies
  • Relationship management on ongoing basis to facilitate comprehensive coverages and timely recovery on claims
  • Manage timely risk engineering surveys for all group companies
  • For claims management  - To coordinate and provide all necessary documents for open claim settlements  
  1. Support in Insurance Roadshows Planning and Market analysis
  • Support in roadshows planning for significant insurance policies including facilitate in planning meetings with insurance broker and development of engagement plan with insurance companies / re-insurers.
  • Coordinate with Insurance market / reinsurers on global market news and communicate Business Finance of key developments

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators 4/4

  1. Liaising with insurance companies, loss adjustor, forensic accountant or legal experts in matters related to insurance claims

Effective stakeholder management

  1. Facilitate compliance reviews of Internal Audit / External Audit

Support to Internal and External Auditor to ensure timely closure of Audits with “Satisfactory” ratings

  1. Support DM Treasury Ops & Service Excellence on automation projects in relation to insurance
  • Insurance claims portal
