Job Purpose

The mandate of the Investments department encompasses management of processes related to acquisitions, divestments, and equity listings across the Group. Moreover, the Investments department provides support in evaluation of subsidiary projects and is also the custodian of the Portfolio Management Equation.

This role will be responsible for working on and supporting the CIO on all Investments transactions and other investment / divestment related matters of Engro Corp and its subsidiaries.

Description

Performance Indicators

Assist the CIO in managing active Investments projects / transactions and deliver value from origination of transactions towards their respective executions

Efficiently manage transactions including due diligence, negotiations and closing

Initiate and manage business relationships within Engro, portfolio companies and with external advisors, bankers and consultants

Enhance knowledge relevant to portfolio companies and various other sectors and utilize the same with sound judgement for existing opportunities

Ensure IGF implementation and adherence across all new projects and attain approvals from SteerCo / BIC / BoD for transactions at different stages

Adherence of IGF for all opportunities being presented for investment

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators 2/4

1. Manage the cost budget of the relevant transactions

Manage costs to stay within the budget approved by the board for each transaction

2. Review financial models, business sensitivities, valuation matrices for evaluation of investment / divestment opportunities

Provide sound commercial input for financial and investment decision making

3. Manage transactions and projects related to portfolio companies and / or other new business development initiatives

Ownership of Investments transaction workstreams

1. Manage the due diligence process for transactions

Work closely with the team and advisors / consultants to provide important business insights and steer the due diligence process

  1. Negotiate relevant transaction documents, key contracts and agreements with the counterparty

Clearly communicate and negotiate Engro’s positions with counterparties

  1. Conceptualize thought pieces, frameworks and processes

Effective communication and presentation of finalized deliverables to seek approval for implementation from leadership

  1. Manage the Portfolio Management Equation to provide leadership with strategic insights on the portfolio allocation

Present scenario analysis and insights related to the portfolio

  1. Coach team members, delegate responsibilities and ensure continuous improvement in quality of work 

Improvement in quality of work / deliverables from the team

  1. Manage the deal pipeline incorporating all relevant Group projects / transactions relevant to Investments

Maintain an updated deal pipeline comprising of all Investments related opportunities within the Group
