Legal Counsel
Job Purpose:
• Provide ongoing support to the Manager (Legal Advisory) and Group companies. • Advise on contracts, regulatory compliance, risk management, and dispute-related matters. • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and operational contracts to protect the Group’s interests. • Monitor and share legal and regulatory updates relevant to the Group’s businesses. • Liaise with external counsel on advisory, transactional, and dispute matters. • Act as a trusted legal advisor on matters with significant legal, financial, or reputational impact.

Legal Advisory & Risk Management
· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts,
agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and other
legal documentation.
· Provide legal advice on existing
contracts, operational matters, and
proposed transactions.
· Identify, assess, and highlight legal
risks and exposures, and propose
practical mitigation measures.
· Conduct legal research on laws,
regulations, and procedures and
render clear, commercially sound
legal opinions.
· Support internal stakeholders by
providing timely and pragmatic legal
guidance. i. Accurate, timely, and commercially aligned legal advice and documentation. ii. Clear identification and mitigation of legal risks. iii. Quality and depth of legal research and opinions. iv. Effective support to business and operational teams.
Contract review, drafting and negotiation
· Review, draft, and negotiate
commercial, procurement, services,
and other operational contracts.
· Ensure contracts are aligned with
internal policies, risk appetite, and
applicable laws.
· Support contract lifecycle
management, including amendments,
renewals, and terminations.
· Flag deviations from standard terms
and advise on legal and commercial
implications.
i. Quality and robustness of contracts and negotiated positions. ii. Timely turnaround of contract reviews. iii. Reduction in contractual risk exposure. iv. Effective coordination with business stakeholders.
Creating and maintaining a database of
laws and updating the same. i. To put in place a database and regularly update relevant laws for the Legal department.
· Create, maintain, and regularly update a database of applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. · Track legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Group’s businesses. · Share relevant legal updates and implications with the Manager (Legal Advisory) and relevant business teams. · Support compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws. ii. Share relevant laws and updates with the Manager (litigation advisory) and the relevant business. iii. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
Support to Manager (Legal Advisory) &
Strategic Matters
• Assist the Manager (Legal Advisory) on
complex, high-impact, or sensitive
legal matters.
• Support cross-functional initiatives,
transactions, and projects requiring
legal input.
• Contribute to continuous
improvement of legal processes,
templates, and best practices.
