Job Title: Senior Instrument Engineer
Job Purpose :
Instrument & Controls Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and reliability of Instrumentation and Control Systems in line with international standards and best practices, ensuring all aspects related to safety, quality, cost and timeliness.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of robust Preventive Maintenance plans, PM/CM analysis, Gap Analysis of Maintenance Practices for reliability enhancement through benchmarking and alignment with industrial best practices and standards like IEC, IEEE, ISA, NFPA
- Maintenance and upkeep of field instrumentation, process & chemical analyzers, hazardous gas detectors, control valves field and workshop servicing
- Design specifications development and reviews for new ordering in collaboration with Technical Teams
- Experience of Honeywell / ABB Distributed Control Systems, Triconex / Honeywell ESD, GE Mark-VI/VIe, well versed with system architecture and configurations including system and network setup, control loops, interlocks, startup and shutdown sequences, diagnosis of system alarms and troubleshooting
- Siemens / Allen Bradley PLC’s, Package units of Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, ladder logic and FBD programming and troubleshooting
- Development of Annual FC and CAPEX budgets, and effective monitoring, reviews and controls to keep the expenses within defined limits
- Responsible for conducting Root Cause Failure Analysis and investigations and devising plans to avoid recurrence
- Facilitating and interpreting technical safety studies including PHA, HAZOPs, LOPA, FMEA and SIL assessments
- Instrumentation metallurgy and compatibility with corrosive and hazardous application and service
- Carry out correspondence with vendors for technical matters related to instrumentation and control systems, their technical and financial evaluation inline with applicable standards
- Understanding of hazardous area classification and IP rating of Instrumentation and control panels
- I&E related Projects planning, budgeting, design and scope development, procurement and execution
- To maintain or modify drawings & documentations & ensure that they are kept updated and available
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with peers, supervisors, and colleagues across the organization
- Demonstrate effective management and leadership skills, active in taking initiatives, self driven and be able to work with little supervision
Experience requirements:
Sr. Instrument and Control System Engineer with 4-6 years of relevant experience in Petrochemicals, Fertilizer, Oil & Gas or Refinery sectors
