Job Title: Utilities Area Engineer

Job Purpose:

Responsible for safe and efficient operation of Utilities Area to achieve safety, environment, OH&IH Production, quality and cost objectives of Engro Polymer and Chemicals Ltd. He is responsible for smooth operation of UTY area by assisting SIC and DCS engineer as per their instructions.

Overall Responsibilities:

Responsible for the compliance of Company Safety, Environment, and Industrial hygiene policy.Ensures compliance to Site safety, Environment and OHIH rules.Ensures compliance with SEQS standards.Responsible to complete area, PSM, WP, and ERT skill certification as per assigned timeline by unit managementResponsible for own safety, health, hygiene and is accountable for own behavior.Responsible for assisting SIC and DCS engineer in safe and efficient operation of UTY areaResponsible for carrying out the plant normal activities diligently and writing Shift Logbook & properly performing shift handing over / taking over activities by effective communication about the safety, usual / unusual operationIs alert to observe and correct, or report, unsafe practices and conditions.Makes suggestions to improve any aspect of Safety, Environment and OHIH.Maintains an active interest in Safety, Environment and OHIH.Must know his emergency role statement and follow it in case of emergency.Responsible for the Safety Critical Devices and their defeat in area as per role statementHe is responsible for safe and efficient running & Start-up operations.He is responsible for the compliance of Safety, Environment and Quality policies of EPCL.Ensures compliance of the operating guidelines and standing orders. Informs any deviations to SICHe performs the check of equipment and controls. Fill all required log sheets, checklists for the post as per schedule.Ensure compliance of the safety systems and procedures, including work permit procedures, control of change, instrument setting change, Safety critical system, Pre-commissioning & Commissioning procedure and manuals.Responsible for safe and effective handling of plant emergencies. Act as emergency response team member and assists the ERT leader during emergencies.Provide adequate support to other area engineers as per instruction of SICResponsible for safe startup and shutdown of equipment. Fills out all required checklists.Provides inputs to Shift In charge for SAP notification generation and chemicals / lubes inventories make up.Be prepared to work for long hours, in shifts and promptly respond to call outs to achieve and implement department objectives.

Experience requirements:

DAE/B.Tech Chemical/FSc/Graduate with 8-12 Years of relevant experience in utilities operation including demin, cooling tower, IA/PA/N2, package boiler, diesel generator, and MCC.
