Manager Business Development
Job Profile
The incumbent will lead and drive business development initiatives aimed at maximizing the utilization of Thar Coal by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, expanding customer engagement, and supporting long-term growth objectives. The role will be responsible for market intelligence, commercial evaluations, business case development, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management across the mining, power, industrial, and energy sectors. The position will play a key role in promoting Thar Coal as a competitive fuel source, supporting diversification initiatives, and enabling sustainable business growth while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead market intelligence efforts by analyzing coal demand, pricing trends, fuel economics, regulatory developments, and market opportunities to enhance utilization of Thar Coal.
- Identify and develop new domestic and international business opportunities for Thar Coal across power generation, cement, industrial, gasification, and other value-added applications
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with power producers, industrial customers, investors, government entities, regulators, and industry stakeholders to support long-term business growth.
- Develop business cases, commercial models, and feasibility assessments for new projects, investments, and partnerships aimed at increasing coal offtake and revenue generation.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract structuring, MoU development, and review of commercial agreements to secure favorable business outcomes.
- Evaluate opportunities for diversification and downstream utilization of Thar Coal, including coal conversion technologies, mining-related services, and emerging energy solutions.
- Collaborate with technical, operations, finance, legal, and other internal teams to assess opportunities and ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct commercial, financial, and risk assessments of business opportunities and recommend mitigation measures where required
