JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Following are the major end results the job is expected to achieve. Include quality and safe functions.

• He is responsible for safe plant operation at DCS during start up activities and actively involve in various test runs at DCS.
• Responsible for efficient normal operation of DCS  to achieve Safety, Environment, Production, Quality and Cost objectives of Engro Polymer and Chemicals Ltd.
• He is responsible for smooth DCS operation keeping in focus the design limits of the equipment and operation parameters.
• He is responsible for coordinating with EDC DCS for smooth operation of the plant.
• He is responsible for close coordination with PVC plant during VCM intake and transfer.
• He is responsible for ensuring compliance of the operating guidelines, standing orders and PSRMs. Also responsible for informing his Shift In charge for any deviation or routine / non-routine operational changes. Also responsible to suggest changes to Shift In charge regarding the improvement in plant efficiency and safety of plant.
• He is responsible for carrying out the plant normal activities diligently and writing Shift Log Book & properly performing shift handing over / taking over activities by effective communication about safety, usual / unusual operation, defective plant condition & prevailing plant condition.
• He checks instruments & controls, logs parameters of DCS as determined or required by Shift In charge from time to time. Fills all required log sheets, checklists and laboratory results.
• He helps SIC in coordinating with CA for hydrogen intake during furnace Load increasing and ramping.
• He is responsible for coordinating with CA/PVC and UTY plant during EDCVCM plant start up and shutdown.
• He helps SIC in controlling product quality through effective control. Also monitors trends to pick-up and highlight problems applying proactive approach.
• He is responsible for the equipment in VCM Area directly or sequentially controlled and operated by DCS.
• Ensure compliance of the safety system and procedure in his area, including work permits procedure, control of change, safety critical system, operating procedures and manuals..
• Monitoring report for smooth & reliable operation of plant.
• He is responsible for maintaining DCS log sheets & log book as per normal procedure and consult the Shift In charge for any unsafe condition and practice.
• Responsible for safe and effective handling of plant emergencies. He provides guidance to field engineers and assists the SIC in appropriate decision-making during emergencies.
• Participates in department training activities as per training plans.
• He is responsible for the Housekeeping and upkeep of CCR.
• He is responsible for compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14000 , OHIH standards and PSRM procedures.
• He is responsible for safe and effective handling of plant emergencies in compliance with the role statement during Level-1 or Level-2 emergencies.
• Performs his duties safely & smoothly to protect his fellow workers.
• Adherence to rules & regulations as stipulated in Company policy.
• Be prepared to work for long hours and promptly respond to call outs to achieve & implement Department objectives.
• Carry out all work related to his job description and any other work assigned by Shift In charge on need basis.
• He is responsible for the Safety Critical Devices and their defeat in his area as per role statement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

• DAE /F.Sc minimum.
• The incumbent should have a minimum experience of 03 years of DCS operation in process industry
