Job Title: Assistant Inspection Engineer 

Objective/Purpose of Job

To ensure the reliability and integrity of all the containment equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, boilers, valves, piping etc.) installed at the plant by implementing and monitoring a structured inspection system, based on EPCL procedures and relevant codes, standards and regulations. Moreover, provide technical support in the fields of material, welding and non-destructive testing, thus helping the organization achieve its goals by sustained, continuous and stable plant operation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan monthly jobs with Inspection engineer and review past inspections and any concerns.
  • Perform external, on-stream, CUI/CUF & internal inspections as per codes and approved procedures.
  • Review and evaluate NDE reports from inspectors for acceptance/rejection.
  • Repair procedure review with Inspection Engineer.
  • Perform welders qualification tests of all regular, turnaround, shutdown, and projects welders and maintain list of qualified welders. (during defined tenure)
  • Perform crane and rigging tools inspection for regular, turnaround, and project use and maintain inspection records. (during defined tenure)
  • Perform PSVs calibration and NRVs & mechanical valves testing & inspection at workshop of all units and maintain records. (during defined tenure)
  • Perform incoming material inspection for regular, turnaround, and projects and maintain inspection records. (during defined tenure)
  • Coordinate with TPI for inspections as per approved inspection and test plans at Vendor shops. Perform spot audits at vendor shops to ensure that the fabrication process complies with approved specifications, drawings.
  • Track non-conformances and observations in fabrication (both in-house and at vendors shop) for closure. (during specific project)
  • Review QAQC Inspection reports from Inspectors and record keeping. (during specific project)
  • Ensure QAQC inspection dossier is compiled and maintained in equipment file.
  • Schedule monthly inspections for timely completion.
  • Participate in routine planning meetings for jobs scheduling and raise concerns to Inspection engineer in case of issues.
  • Perform skill development trainings pertaining to Inspection for Workshop Inspectors & Area Inspectors and attend the assigned trainings
  • Develop detailed inspection reports, perform data assessments, and generate recommendations.
  • Maintain record keeping of all inspection data.

Experience Requirements & Skill:

  • D.A.E/ B.Tech (Mechanical) with 12+ years of relevant experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or Fertilizer.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
