Sales Manager - Polymer Sales
Role Purpose
The Manager Sales– Polymer Trade will lead Engro Eximp Fze's commercial presence and expansion in Bangladesh. The incumbent will own the country sales strategy, build a strong customer portfolio across polymer-consuming sectors, drive volume and margin growth, and establish Engro as a preferred trading partner in one of the region's most strategically important markets. This is a hybrid role with flexibility between office and remote working.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and execute the polymer sales strategy for Egypt in alignment with FZE's global commercial objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and convert new business opportunities across packaging, automotive, construction, FMCG, and other polymer-consuming sectors.
- Continuously analyse market trends, pricing dynamics, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform commercial decisions and shape sourcing strategy.
Sales & Trading
- Deliver agreed volume, revenue, and margin targets for the Bangladesh market.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with customers, balancing short-term commercial outcomes with long-term partnership value.
- Manage end-to-end commercial transactions in close coordination with trade operations, logistics, finance, and chartering teams.
- Monitor receivables, credit exposure, and contract performance to safeguard commercial outcomes.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, converters, and distributors across Bangladesh.
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients in-country, ensuring service excellence and responsiveness.
- Represent Engro EXIMP FZE at industry events, customer engagements, and relevant forums to strengthen brand presence and market intelligence.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Prepare structured sales performance, pipeline, and market intelligence reports for senior leadership.
- Provide commercial input into demand planning, supplier negotiations, and pricing strategy.
- Collaborate with global trading, market intelligence, and operations teams to ensure aligned execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is advantageous.
Experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in polymer sales, trading, or distribution, with at least 3–5 years in a senior commercial role.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering volume and margin growth in the Bangladesh market.
- Established network with converters, distributors, and end-users in Bangladesh.
- Prior experience in international commodity trading is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical understanding of polymer products (PE, PP, PVC, PET, and related grades) and their downstream applications.
- Proven business development capability — identifying opportunities, building networks, and closing deals in a competitive trading environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and translate insight into commercial action.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in a market-facing role while collaborating across a globally distributed team.
- Fluency in Bengali and English is essential; additional languages will be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Bengali trade regulations, customes etc.
