Deputy Manager Stationary
PK
Location: Thar Site
Requirements: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 7 years of experience in maintenance of coal handling system, stacker reclaimers, belt conveyors and spares planning. Qualification in CMRP / VCAT-2 is preferred.
Responsibility:
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for stationary mechanical equipment, including coal handling systems (crushers, conveyors, stacker
reclaimers) and pressure vessels.
• Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pressure vessels to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal operating conditions.
• Schedule and supervise routine maintenance and emergency repairs for crushers, conveyors, and stacker reclaimers to minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure continuous coal
handling operations.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of stationary equipment, including pressure vessels and coal handling systems, focusing on minimizing unplanned shutdowns.
• Monitor the performance of crushers, conveyors, and stacker reclaimers, addressing wear and tear, alignment, and lubrication issues to enhance equipment efficiency.
• Inspect pressure vessels for corrosion, cracks, and integrity issues, ensuring that safety relief valves, gauges, and other components function effectively.
• Plan and execute shutdown maintenance for pressure vessels and critical coal handling equipment, coordinating with production to minimize operational impact.
• Supervise the inspection and maintenance of coal crushers, ensuring proper functioning of components such as hammers, screens, and motors to reduce wear and increase crusher
life.
• Ensure the maintenance of conveyor belts, including belt tension, pulley alignment, and idler functionality to prevent material handling bottlenecks.
• Oversee stacker reclaimer maintenance, focusing on the lubrication, alignment, and wear monitoring of reclaiming arms, gearboxes, and drive systems to maintain smooth material
stacking and reclaiming operations.
• Ensure compliance with standards (e.g., ASME, API) in the maintenance of pressure vessels, including inspection of welds, thickness measurements, and testing of pressure relief
devices.
• Plan and execute hydrostatic tests, ultrasonic inspections, and non-destructive testing (NDT) for pressure vessels to detect faults and ensure operational safety.
• Develop and manage pressure vessel maintenance logs, ensuring proper documentation of inspections, repairs, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team, including technicians and engineers, to ensure effective execution of technical maintenance tasks, particularly for complex
systems like crushers, conveyors, stacker reclaimers, and pressure vessels.
• Provide specialized training for the team in areas such as non-destructive testing (NDT), vibration analysis, and equipment-specific maintenance procedures for coal handling
systems.
• Manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost control for pressure vessel inspections and coal handling system repairs, while maintaining equipment reliability.
• Monitor expenditures for spare parts such as crusher components (e.g., hammers, belts) and pressure vessel accessories, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve designs for pressure vessels and coal handling systems, addressing any reliability issues identified during maintenance.
• Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of specialized parts (e.g., crusher hammers, conveyor belts, pressure relief valves).
• Ensure all pressure vessel maintenance and coal handling system repairs adhere to company safety standards and comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Implement stringent safety procedures for high-risk maintenance activities such as confined space entry in pressure vessels, or high-elevation work on stacker reclaimers and
conveyors.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, particularly focusing on pressure vessel integrity and coal handling system wear points (e.g., conveyor belts, chutes, hoppers).
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track and report on maintenance activities, particularly for coal handling system components and pressure
vessels.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment downtime, failure rates of crushers and conveyors, and pressure vessel inspection results, reporting to senior
management.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of crushers, conveyors, stacker reclaimers, and pressure vessels.
• Implement advanced maintenance techniques such as vibration monitoring for crushers and conveyors, and pressure testing for vessels, to proactively address equipment failures.
• Prepare contingency plans for critical failures in the coal handling system (e.g., conveyor belt breakdowns, crusher malfunctions) and pressure vessel leaks.
• Manage the response to emergency situations, coordinating resources to restore functionality to coal handling systems and pressure vessels as quickly and safely as possible.
