  1. Job Purpose  

 
 
  1. Provide the vertical with legal support on an ongoing basis:  

  • providing business with support on corporate and commercial matters including legal opinions and handling intellectual property matters 

  • ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory matters and sharing updates on various laws applicable to the businesses are circulated in a timely manner 

  • ensuring associated business risks are identified and adequately managed/ mitigated 

  1. Assisting the General Manager with various matters from time to time including regulatory matters. 

  1. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for businesses and ensuring the interests of the companies are safeguarded. 

  1. Act as an advisory function to support business/relevant subsidiary from a legal perspective

Description 

Performance Indicators 

  1. Provide effective and efficient legal support to the businesses  

  • Draft, review and negotiate various day to day contracts and safeguard the interests of the companies. 

  • Identifying and highlighting legal risks/exposures and devising mechanisms to mitigate them. 

  • Researching and rendering opinions to businesses. 

  • To engage external counsels where required and oversee/monitor deliverables To negotiate competitive fees of external counsel. 

  • Provide legal advice on existing contracts and operational matters on an on-going basis. 

  1. Handling regulatory matters 

  • Handling and assisting the General Manager with various regulatory matters. 

  • Maintaining a database of regulatory matters and ensuring easy access to information/data. 

  1.  Drafting, updating and implementing standardized templates 

  • Drafting, updating and implementing standardized templates for day to day contractual matters. Reviewing annexures prepared by businesses from a legal perspective. 

  • Draft standardized templates to meet general business requirements. 

  1. Creating and maintaining a database of laws and updating the database 

 

 

  • To put in place a database and regularly update relevant laws for the vertical. 

  • Share relevant laws and updates with businesses. 

  • Develop a framework and ensure compliance with internal and external policies, regulations and applicable laws. 

  1. Assisting the General Manager with various matters 

  • Timely and quality delivery on special assignments and reviews including but not limited to projects, transactions and business development matters.
