Manager Field Maintenance-Ammonia/Urea Plant
Job Summary
Maintenance Manager reports to the General Manager Maintenance and is responsible for overseeing maintenance staff of respective areas and troubleshoot issues for reliable plant operation to achieve targeted service factor. This position is also responsible for the implementation and compliance of site safety protocol and programs (PSM/OHIH/EMS), maintenance regimes execution, quality control, cost, machines and equipment spare management and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Department.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure 100% compliance of established PM plans & support engineering team in conducting reliability surveys
- Provide support to achieve production target set forth by management
- Ensure equipment history & all maintenance records are evergreen, maintained and updated
- Maintains project schedule and priorities by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
- Effective SAP utilization to ensure all jobs are scheduled & managing stocks effectively.
- Ensure concentrated efforts are applied towards minimizing rework & increase time between failure I.e. reduce down time.
- Identify improvement need in existing systems and processes and develop plans to achieve set target
- Ensure availability of critical spares through critical spares inventory management system
- Turnaround job list preparation, planning & execution.
- Job cards update & revisit every 3 years for any improvement if needed.
- SOP’s development for routine work.
- Achieve Safety, Quality and Reliability objectives through Plant Reliability Enhancement Program (PREP)
- Highlighting various issues, ideas, accomplishments through Plant Reviews and putting them into workable plans
- Promote HSE culture through active participation in safety talks, events and motivating team members.
- Compliance to Site safety Audits as per plan issued by safety section including PSM/OHIH/ESM
- Steward respective area safety recommendation
- Daily spot checks of an assigned work area & weekly housekeeping inspection with first line supervisor
- Makes thorough investigation of all recordable accidents and serious incidents occurring to employees in assigned work areas; makes personal inspections; and develops preliminary information.
- Review first-line supervisors’ HSE activities weekly to determine if minimum standards are being met.
- Reviews accident reports and follows up (with first-line supervisors) on corrective and preventive action
Technical Skills
Must-Have Technical/ Functionals skills/ knowledge areas :
- Knowledge of International codes / standards / equipment
- Execution techniques (Advanced)
- Construction, Maintenance & Operation of Pumps, Compressors, Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Gearboxes, Fans & Blowers (Advanced)
- Machinery Diagnostics/Vibration Analysis (Advanced)
- Stationary Equipment Maintenance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities, Experience [KSAE] required :
- The individual must have at least ~8-10 years of field experience at any of Ammonia, Urea or Utilities Plant. The incumbent must have sound technical knowledge of industrial equipment.
- The individual should have strong analytical skills, well versed with software like advanced MS Office etc., along with leadership skills, conflict resolution capability, working under pressure, problem solving skills, teamwork skills, resilience and multi-tasking abilities.
