Job Title: Deputy Manager SAP MM
Department: ICT
Experience: 5–8 years
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

Lead the day-to-day delivery, improvement and control of procurement and materials management processes on SAP MM. Act as the key functional resource and trusted advisor to business stakeholders: resolve issues at the root, reduce repeat incidents, and drive digitalisation and efficiency across the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process while ensuring controls, compliance and alignment with business objectives.

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators

  • Independently provide end-to-end SAP MM functional support, from diagnosis to resolution with the business, covering procure-to-pay, inventory and warehouse management, material master and maintenance spares and orders.
  • Own every incident, service request and change request through a Jira, as an assignee and follow it to closure. Report ticket ageing, backlog, repeat issues and resolution times each month.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Maintenance and Engineering, and directly with business users, to understand needs and resolve issues quickly.
  • Analyse business issues, find root causes, and coordinate with the business to provide solutions. Handle recurring problems such as PR release and approval, PR rerouting, PO and DPO release, SES errors and STO issues, maintaining Reservations workflow and LOAM.
  • Monitor recurring issues, recommend and implement process improvements, and create standard request forms and self-service guides to reduce repeat requests.
  • Configure and maintain release strategies, approval workflows and purchasing controls, and monitor procurement compliance.
  • Work with SAP Basis and Security on roles, authorisations and user access requests, applying segregation-of-duties principles.
  • Ensure SAP processes comply with company policy, internal controls and audit requirements, and support audit queries.
  • Manage SAP partners and external vendors against agreed SLAs, with clear communication and follow-up on delivery commitments.
  • Carry out hands-on SAP MM and PM configuration, unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Run MM and PM projects using SAP project methodology, and prepare business requirements, functional specifications and test documentation.
  • Support regression testing, system upgrades, enhancements and deployments, and validate proposed SAP changes before production release.
  • Manage integration between SAP MM and PM (maintenance spares, reservations and order-driven procurement), between MM and FI/CO, SD, PP, WM and QM, and between Ariba and SAP.
  • Apply basic debugging and coordinate with technical teams on reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms and workflows.
  • Prepare user manuals, SOPs and process documentation, maintain a knowledge base of known issues, and train end users and key stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on SAP MM experience, covering functional support and business process management.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP MM configuration and procurement processes, including release strategies and approval workflows.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Materials Management and Fiori applications.
  • Experience managing SAP incidents, change requests and UAT, and coordinating with external SAP vendors or partners.
  • Experience on at least two end to end SAP implementation, rollout, migration or upgrade project.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL-based incident and change management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • SAP MM certification.
  • Knowledge of authorisation concepts and segregation of duties.
  • Experience building SOPs, knowledge bases or self-service processes for SAP users.
