Assistant Manager Import & Clearance
Location: Head Office
Requirements: Master's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. 5-7 years of experience in imports and customs clearance. -Certification in International Trade or Customs Compliance is a plus.
Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the complete import cycle from PFI/LC issuance to shipment clearance and site delivery

Coordinate with procurement, finance, vendors, banks, shipping lines, and clearing agents for smooth import operations

Manage Letters of Credit (LCs), ensuring zero discrepancies and full compliance with bank and customs requirements

Review and verify all import documentation including invoices, packing lists, B/L, HS codes, and certificates of origin

Ensure timely customs clearance, resolving valuation, documentation, duties, and tariff-related issues

Track shipments end-to-end and ensure ≥95% on-time delivery to sites

Arrange logistics, transportation, cranes, and offloading while ensuring safety and cost efficiency

Optimize logistics routes, contracts, and transport plans to achieve cost savings

Liaise with government authorities for permits, licenses, and duty exemptions

Monitor regulatory changes and ensure adherence to customs laws, internal controls, and company policies

Negotiate rates with shipping lines and clearing agents; evaluate and manage vendor performance

Monitor and control import-related costs, ensuring budget variance within limits

Maintain accurate import records, prepare reports, and analyze trends for process improvements

Handle delays, disputes, and urgent shipments through effective contingency planning
